We've got a little Teknika TV from Tescos - only the angle of view is awful - if you are more than a few degrees away from straight-on viewing everything goes dark and appears as a negative -has anyone else had the same problem with a TV? Is there anything I can do about it or is it a new TV?

We have limited space in the TV cupboard, so need to have a small TV, so do they all have a similar problem?

Thanks in advance for any info you may have.

I have a Teknica from Tesco too and don't have that problem. Mine is 'small' but is a 16.5 inch screen so may be bigger than yours.

The sound on mine is dreadful though!

We have one and no problems with the viewing angle. Like Ingram though, the sound on ours is absolutely awful. Maybe put my picture together with your sound and we've got a decent TV!

Have a 22 inch Technica on-board ship in my cabin, viewing angle leaves a lot to be desired especially if looking up toward screen, sound is not the best but acceptable, you get what you pay for.

19" Avtex in MH, viewing angles, what's that brilliant from wherever and sound quality is superb.

We have one sound fine but we bought a swivel bracket from Tesco and put it above the table. Alternatively could you not use the stand it came with on your table and just store it in the cabinet when driving?

We can travel ith the tv on its bracket but usually it lives on the bed for safety.

Viewing angle on mine is appalling as well so it must vary with model - I'm just about to replace it with a "Soundwave" 18.5" LED model from Cubik. The viewing angle on that is at least 180degrees - if you can see the screen the picture is the right colour.

Previous thread on the subject of the Cubik here.

I've been using it in the "office" since I bought it and apart from the quirky EPG I can't fault it.

We have a 19" Toshiba DVD combo. Sound, picture quality and viewing angles are all excellent.
Ours is mounted on a Tesco swivel bracket which sits on our bathroom wall. Although when we are travelling the TV goes in the garage for safety.

It maybe a long shot, but could repositioning it be a answer?

My TV wasn't optimum until I did this:

We have a 14" Matsui and the viewing angle is the same as described the the poster. However, as SHMBO sits directly in front of the telly, there 'is not a problem'. That is why I cannot convince her that we need a new TV for the van. The good thing about this small TV is that it is permanently attached to its bracket.
