I've been looking for a definitive answer to this all afternoon, unsuccessfully. Someone on here will know methinks....

If I have a nominal 12v 120w solar panel and a nominal 12v 75w solar panel can I just parallel them at the controller ?

hmmm ...?

Yes you can.

I often have a 90 watt solar and an 80 watt wind turbine running together in parallel.

Hi I havw two ninety and four forty watt all linked together as long as the operating voltages are similar all should be ok mine have been running for four years. Make sure your controller will cope and make sure the cables from the panel to the regulator and to the battery are heavy enough yyou will lose efficincy and gain heat if the cable is to small.

Its worth counting the number of cells on each panel. If they are different then there is a little to be gained by also using two regulators of the MPPT type. But the gain will probably not be that large. Most permutations will work, just some a bit better than others.

How ? I cannot explain Sad but I can explain what the problem is........ Smile

your earlier posting;

http://www.motorhomefacts.com/ftopicp-1182586.html#1182586

had somehow appeared THREE times one after the other, how that happened I do not know, but I have removed the last two identical posts as is normal for any such occurrence. Wink

Perhaps you pressed the "submit" button more than once? If it is slow going (which it can be from a computer - I have yet to get on from my Kindle) you may have pressed it more than once thinking the submit had not worked...... Confused

No problem though, it is something we do routinely, so relax and enjoy your time in Spain, Very Happy
