Just wondering how everyone is doing with digital TV. We have been having great results watching tv using a normal antenna in the camper here in Italy lately now that the country has switched to digital terrestrial. Of course we only get the Italian language channels. I have pretty much decided to forget the idea of having a satellite system.

Ok if you are happy with the local programmes and speak the language. Getting local programmes has never been a problem analogue or digital. We have a CAMOS satellite system with a freesat receiver which functions well down to and including Switzerland -yet to venture further.

I suppose the cost is the main reason I've never got a dish system. Plus at home we have one and the only English programs we get are the news channels which in fact is very useful but not much excitement for the kids. The main reason for my question is do people get much off an antenna in the rest of Europe. We didn't get much before in Italy using analog, but with digital there are lots of channels and good quality, so I'm thinking that a dish would just be an extravagance for us.
