We're new to motorhoming and recently purchased our first "van". It's a 2002 Hymer B694 on a fiat tag chassis.
We were at the Motorhome Show at the Bath & West Showground last weekend and had a great time. This life is definitely for us! We're off to bath in 2 weeks and can't wait.
I also can't wait for the lighter evenings so I can get out and tinker with my new toy. I've got so many plans for it you wouldn't believe. Satellite tv, microwave in a cupboard. It needs some repairs too. The onboard generator doesn't work, the fuel guage is erratic, there's an led light in the lounge that flickers to name but a few.
Happy days ahead indeed !!!...I can well remember the early excitement of owning our first van......we couldn't sleep for weeks before it was delivered.....even now, 8 years on, & several changes of van too,we sometimes just go and sit in it...how sad is that ?
Anyway...enjoy it all and share with us your travels...we are a nosy lot you know ...

We love to meet everyone...just PM us for our address !
I popped along to the Shepton Show as well over the weekend. It is our local show......
You are right to be excited about your new (to you) van! So many places to see and not enough time to do it all......
Stick around on this site and I am sure that you will get some great advice regarding your van and the problems will be ironed out in no time.

There´s something you´ve forgotten!
And that´s to laugh and smile and dance and sing!
we all know how you feel - the excitement is palpable and you really want to spend every minute doing this, that or in fact ANYTHING as long as it's in the MH
You sound like you have got a good plan for what you want to do, but can I seriously suggest the best £12.50 we have EVER spent is to subscribe here!
OK that sounds like I'm pushing it and yes I am but for the right reasons! I took a very similar path a few years ago, joined MHF as I had encountered a problem and it looked likely that II would have to go back to the dealer - a 130 mile round trip......
all because the step had stopped going in when the ignition was switched on - frustrating to say the least!
I joined MHF and asked a question as one of my five freebies before subscribing, and had the answer as to what the fault was, where to find it, how to correct it and so on within a matter of 15 minutes........
Problem solved - MUCH better than a 130 mile trip!
I used up my five and was happily getting answers to questions I had not even thought of! Hence I subscribed and have continued to believe that it was the best spend I have EVER done!
The advice and help is amazing, being able to use the search facilities is great and there is SO MUCH on here to stop me getting bored.....
When we cannot be using the van this is second best and the posts have given us so many ideas of places to visit and ways to do things that I am continually staggered.
So, end of the hard sell!
We all hope to see lots more of you on here - and perhaps at rallies too - they are great fun and everyone is made very welcome - so we do hope that you will also get involved with all of us on here,
Welcome to Motorhoming and the Madhouse 'Motorhome Facts' sometimes the banter get out of hand, but thats because we dont like one another
On here you will get as much or as little help as you need, and get to meet some great people and a few .
Dont forget to wave
First of all welcome to the forum, we remember that felling of excitement and the felling of spending a large amount of cash on one item and thinking have we dun the right thing, the answer to that was wise we’d dun it earlier.
Now seven years and five vans later we still get exited every time we get ready for our next trip.
This is the right place if you need information or help with any problems you may have if your van or planning. Once you have posted a request you always get a response.
Welcome Keith and Jane, may the excitement of having a van stay with you
Lots of advice on here about most things, food, drink, pc, kindle you ask and someone will know either the answer or where to get it. even some very useful stuff about motorhomes and travel
Welcome Keith & Jane - you managed to get two normal replies before the heavies got in trying to steal your dinner money...
You'll enjoy it here - friendly people, good advice and plenty to read. Anything you need to know about or associated with motorhoming (and so much more) is here!
Enjoy!
Mark
