Hi all, i am going to build a demountable fixed roof, well fixed at the minute, i wont be strating the build for a good few months but in that time i will want to collect parts, first is the workings for the jack legs.

Any advice on which setup to use and where to get parts will be great please folks .

Always the easy way, but not always, and myself i dont like the look of them and unless you get a good shell its a lot of work to replace damp areas etc.
I wouldnt trust the structure either if i was to go off the highway on a few green lanes, i cant see a caravan being as strong as one that i would build from 25mm box ally.

What about a Luton body and builing on that? I have seen quite a few in scrap yards having been taken of the chassis.

A caravan as a donor might be good just for parts. i.e. cooker fridge, hob, sink, water heater, pump, maybe even loo and windows. Might be a cheaper option. But then again you will have everything else to dispose of.

Hi Wayne
I meant for Parts,
old caravan will have fridge, loo, hob, oven, water heater, heating, Charging unit,
you can even use upholstery. windows, door

I converted a van many years ago and used new parts all the way through, cost a blooody fortune
