Brittany Ferries have an offer on La Vielle Ferme.

A good ordinary range of wines

They are selling the Red and the White, a case of 6 for £16.90.

That works out at £2.92 a bottle.

Waitrose, Tesco Majestic Etc, sell it for around £6 a bottle.

Thank you for the advice, however....

I would have to buy a lot of the stuff to make up for the cost of using Brittany ferries.

When I was working, and before we had a motorhome, we used Brittany ferries a lot for our two week holiday in France every year. Since I have retired and have all the time in the world, we go via Calais on cost grounds.

Is the wine any good?

Once again, thanks for your post, it is appreciated even if I can't use the information. Smile

Thanks for the Reply Sandy,

I can understand what you are saying with regards to BF. But that is another long debated issue.

In brief, if I had all the time in the world. We would use Dover Calais. Money and time no Issue, Hull-Zeebrugge every time.

My opinion, Out-Of-Season. BF's Spanish routes cost no more than driving through France.

Just done it. Eurotunnel one way to Spain over the Pyrenees. Took us 8 Hours to get from Manchester to Eurotunnel Terminal. Came back Via Bilbao-Portsmouth. Portsmouth-Manchester took us a shade under 4 hours.

Back to the Wine.

La Vieille Ferme ("la vee eh firm" (the old Farm)).

Good everyday Rhone (Red AOC Ventoux) wine. Drink now or Store it well for a couple of years and it will probably taste as good as last years overpriced overrated chateauneuf du pape.

You may be right about BF for trips to Spain, I was thinking of Portsmouth - Caen or St Malo.

Enjoy your wine!
