But when I changed the Oil, I got an Independent garage to change the Air and oil filter.
Plus, when ENZA Did the last Service, inc oil. They refitted the battery Positive + Jump starter point. So it must be possible to remove the air filter housing. This I did myself on my other Sprinter traveliner.
So if the air filter housing can come off to change the filter, that looks like the answer (the Analytic connector points are different on my 4 cylinder model).
I will look under the bonnet of the other to refresh my memory as to how it comes off.
I can get the Air Filter housing to move to one side. But cannot remove it from under the bonnet. Not sure how the Garage and Mercedes (Enza) changed the filter!.
time to ask why do you need to access the air con - have you a leak ?
A/C packed up in Spain a couple of weeks ago. Had been working okay.
When I tested it, no gas in at all, not even a farts worth. I pressure tested it with OFN (Oxygen Free Nitrogen). Initially, I thought the system was leaking. But realised it was my Manifold (Gauge set). So I switched over to a spare and no pressure drop for 2 hours.
So I have vacuumed the system out for an hour and re-charged with 800g of Refrigerant.
TIP: I did have to put a hot cloth over the outside air temperature sensor in order to get the system to test as it was only +4c outside. This is behind the front number plate.
Automotive Systems can loose 10% (or more) of its refrigerant charge per year. As I said, mine was working fine until we went to spain. I do run the system at least every two weeks.
So I am going to keep my eye on it, keep checking for leaks. I am also going to shrink wrap the connectors and dykem/torque mark any visible mechanical joints. This might indicate if they have been tampered with if it goes to a garage.
