Have a look at the flame when you first light it.

It should be on full flame as the oven comes to temperature.

When the oven start gets to temperature the flame dies down to a smaller size, this may take a couple of minutes.

I believe the thermostat should be within the flame, if it is slightly off, this would give the symptoms that you are experiencing.

I had an oven which on anything below gas mark 4 used to go out. It was fine on higher settings. I never did get it fixed but used to think it was due to the flame failure device which lost temperature and so cut in stopping the gas supply. Could it be you have a similar problem even if it is occurring on higher settings?

Check that the thermocouple (not the thermostat) is sitting in the burner flame when it is lit.

Thanks Teemyob,Steve,Peedee, and Geordie01. I have gone over all your suggestions and found on closer inspection the thermocouple was indeed a bit out of line. A little bit of tweaking seems to have rectified the problem.
Thanks for the help.
