We will be down in the Charente region again in September and have decided it is about time we attended the classic race weekend.

Has anyone on here been to Angouleme for this great weekend with a motorhome? If so, any recommendations for a convenient site, aire or France Passion site?

Also, are there any of you MHF motorhomers attending this year? If so, would be great to hear from you.

Regards

We stayed at the Aire in Angouleme on the way down to through France and Spain to Portugal.

Can't direct you as we went from co-ord to co-ord as given in the 'All the Aires France' book, published by Vicarious books.

If you have the book you will find the Aire at Angouleme.

All the best,

John

There is a small free aire with free EHU in Narsac a charming little town about 7 Km south west. A good bus service right to centre of Angouleme stops within yards.

Distressing to see that the Horse Chestnut trees that line much of the Ramparts seem to be dying of some nasty disease last summer. Hope that they have recovered.

Thre are at least 25 MHF units within spitting distance a couple of weeks prior to that event:

Maybe some of them would be interested in following on from Le Logis Du Breuil?

There was a municipal site there at one time down by the river, but last time we went the whole site looked as if it had been taken over by travellers. They did'nt look too friendly so we made a hasty retreat!!It may have changed and I am sure someone will know!

We went last year and had a great day.
Parked up at my twin brother's and got a lift in early. Make sure you get a ticket for the pits as walking around there was amazing.
There are quite a few sites around Angouleme and there is free parking in the town but you would need to get there early. You could also park by the railway station and walk up to the circuit.
