got all excited found the details of the festival dovetailed in with our return from portugal then realised the dates didn't add up , i was looking at 2011 , 2012 is a week later just when i'm getting on the ferry**************
anyone whose plan's fit the festival takes place in the citadel above the aire [or there's a municipal inside the citadel] this year its 5 euros for a glass/entry ticket and about 80 vinyards to sample we found it by accident 4/5 years ago superb, gonna look at altering the holiday dates but dont hold out much hope,

Près de 80 vignerons des de Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux se donnent rendez-vous dans la citadelle de Blaye, classée au patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco, pour le plus grand événement consacré aux vins du Bordelais après l'événement biennal Bordeaux fête le vin.
Les ateliers dégustations de crus sont agrémentés par des animations : atelier cuisine, dégustations de produits locaux et initiations à la dégustation, démonstration de chauffe et cintrage de barriques, visite guidée de la citadelle, balades sur l’estuaire, découverte du Clos de l’Échauguette. Plus de 10 000 visiteurs y sont attendus. Santé !
Tarif : le pass à 5 € donne droit à l'ensemble des dégustations et animations.

just go's to show you never know how people will react, my boss normally takes every booked date as set in stone when i told him i wanted to move my holiday back a fortnight to go to a wine festival couldn't have been nicer about it, so thats all set now going out 10th march back 25th of april just in time for peterborough,
