I am in the market for a alarm system for my new S Kontiki, I have had a good look at the various systems and have narrowed my choice down to two systems.

One is the Strikeback system, I was half thinking of going for the dealer option. The other system that I was thinking of was the Outsmart the thief system.

My current system on my Autotrail is a Cobra, that arms when you push the lock button on the main key. I think both of the above systems have a separate remote for the alarm which fear will mean on occasions it wont get armed,

Has anyone any comments about the above systems, are there other good systems that I am missing

Thanks for your help

I think you will find they all do pretty much the same thing.

Buy whichever YOU feel is right for YOU (or what the insurance company tell you to fit of course!!)

Why is that a problem??

There are occasions when you will want to lock the van, but not arm it. I think it's always better to have the options when they are available.

To respond to your question, I don't think you will beat the Strikeback. With reference to my opening comment, it is very versatile and extremely reliable. Very few members have reported problems with a Strikeback, and if there are any Eddie VanBitz is second to none for customer support.

We had Strike back on the Hymer excellent

We then had Strikeback fitted on the Adria at the Northern Branch as it was a bit far to travel down to Eddies

We are disappointed with the Strike back on the Adria, not much volume can hardly hear it in the house even though its parked on the drive

Check the volume before fitting its a lot of money if you are not satisfied

Do you mean the volume if it goes off Sandra?

We had a Strikeback on our last MH, couple of problems with it but a call to Vanbitz quickly sorts it out as they are very helpful.

We had ours fitted at one of their agents and i would never have it done this way again. We used RV TEX in Nottingham who unfortunately are no longer in business so had to pay Vanbitz to transfer the ownership over.

I would advise anyone who wants to have a Strikeback to have it done at vanbitz so you know it has been fitted correctly and vanbitz themselves know exactly the location of the wiring etc.

Paul.

Yes Paul

On the Hymer no doubt it was the vans alarm when it went off

On this one ,the car (Toyota Avensis) parked outside on the road is much louder and clearer

Don't know why

Sandra
