 VIN number confusion

On my supposidly 2002MY Fiat Ducato motorhome (Hobby) the 10th digit of the VIN is a zero. According to my web searching the 10th digit indicates model year and CANNOT be a zero!

Anyone else have this issue and/or know what is going on?

I assume that the chassis isn't a year 2000? Might be worth checking with Fiat?

There is a fiat site that sometimes works called ePER if you type the full vin including the letters it should give you the base vehicle details including the month of manuafacture.
