Hi,

We are looking at taking lots of weekend breaks this year to go walking as we are training for the london triathlon (sounded like a good idea at the time!).

We can't afford much budget to buy and were wondering if there is anyone nearby who could offer reasonable rates fot the use of their van?

We'd be looking to have it sat sun mon for long weekends.

Thanks

The problem you may face is that commercial companies will be expensive to do on a regular basis, also if they have enquiries on week long bookings then they will favour them over a weekend hire.

As for "renting" off someone privately, most people have campers / motorhomes so they can do the same thing and get away at weekends. Not to say you may not find someone but ad-hok insurance cover is never cheap.

Why not look for something like a small older camper style van in the classifieds. Preloved or gumtree etc. Just so you can see what type of thing is out there and if it's affordable..

Good luck..

Hi,
Just out of interest, bearing in mind the huge risk, wear and tear, insurance and other running costs, what would you consider to be reasonable rates?
