I think you need to advise that you are recording the phone call. But then again just state your 'I am recording this conversation for future reference' statement to the pre recorded one they give you. If it's acceptable for them to have it stated by a message and for then not to actually know it's being played to a human then it must be fine for you!!
Amazing how poor the reviews were for many of the call recording apps.
I've downloaded one called CallRecorder by skvalex at just over £3
It works a treat. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Recording quality is very good. It can be set up to record all calls or just the ones that you select.
The conversation with TfL was a gem. Details are about to be added to the other post.
I can thoroughly recomend this app to anyone with an HTC android phone.

Are you also aware that it is illegal to let anyone hear or anyone see a transcribed version of the phone call, It is all to do with the data protection act.
You can supply a legal representative a copy BUT they must supply you with a relevant document in request in writing.

You can use it as a "Knowledge" base without making any direct referral to it, i.e. I was told That or I heard that etc etc, But you cannot say, I have a recording where so and so of so and so states etc etc.
You have to be very careful and NOT state that your information is from a voice recording.
If I understand correctly, you actually telephoned them yourself.
If that is so you CAN say, when I phoned so and so they told me that Etc Etc, But you CANNOT refer to a recorded phone call.
Complicated isn't it.
