Hello

Are the the two domes identical the version that I was looking at has autoskue and gps and both the Camos Domes and Roard Pro one appear the have a similar spec,

I had been favouring a Camos but if they are really identical, I will go for a Roadpro, from what I can see the controllers are more advanced in the Camos

Thanks for your help

Andrew

Andrew

I have had the Camos 40 for the last two years

No probs what so ever. Providing you have a good line of sight to the sat you will connect within 30 seconds.

Cheers

I think I read somewhere that they are both made by same manufacturer.

Can I just extend this thread slightly and ask if anyone has any views on the Camos/RoadPro systems compared with the equivalent KVH systems?

Specs. seem very similar, but the RoadPro set-ups seem slightly cheaper.

Thanks

Roger

I have been at the Manchester show today, it appears that Megasat have launched a a new dome which is a 40cm. It has GPS and auto skew, I am told it is identical to MK4 Camos and top road pro.

Although the controllers are different, and possible the Camos's is slightly better, the Megasat also has 5 yr warranty.

KVH is a manufacturer of domes. The others you mention are badged products made by a factory in Korea, WiWorld. Camos, Megasat, VDO, Roadpro etc

Wi World domes can be bought from about £899 on eBay.

If however you want to buy from a dealer buy from RoadPro as you will get the best back up

When I was at Manchester I was talking one Sat Dome suppliers/wholesalers, he is an agent for Camos and RoadPro.

He said he does some problems with Camos and RoadPro, he does sell the KVS range but he is not an agent. He said in 7 years of selling the KVS range he has never had a warranty claim - Which is some going!!!

One of the dishes that I was considering was the KVS R4SL or KVSRSL which is low profile, the guarantee is 2 year parts and 1 years labour. As opposed to 5 years now for a lot of the other domes

KVH carries a three year Pan European warranty if you have the system installed by a KVH Premier Dealer, and a two year warranty if supplied and installed by a normal dealer.

I would agree about their near faultless operation.

We are the UK largest Land Dealer of KVH products and in 2011 we didn't have a single field failure

You have lost me with that one??

http://www.kvh.com/Leisure/RV-Systems/Television/North-America/TracVision-R4-SL.aspx

$1299 SSP and the UK SSP is £1299.00 So work out the dollar exchange rate, then add shipping (you don't get many in a container lol) Add 10% import duty and then 20% of VAT on the whole figure and the figures are about right!
