Hi all,
recently purchased a second hand motorhome. it is a 1999 german build with a 3 ring gas hob(not sure of the make), A truma C3402 heater/boiler and a electrolux fridge. both fridge and oven statein the manuals i have downloaded that they run off 30mbar.
however the regulator that has been fitted is a 50 mbar.
After reading through most posts not sure that it should have a 50 mbar regulator. It also has a sticker inside the gas locker stating 30 mbar in german.
I intend to convert to LPG so would appreciate any help before i go and buy the wrong regulator for my system.
If I recall correctly it's only the main gas solenoid valve you would have to change if so that's easy to change if your boiler is a 50mbar best of luck
I have the opposite situation. My boiler is a truma c6000 marked in German as 50 mbar, but a 30 mbar Truma regulator is fitted. Amongst the paper work handed over when I purchased the Hymer was a recent receipt from a gas engineer who apparently fitted the Truma regulator.
I have looked on the oven, hob and fridge but cannot see any sign things have been re-jetted or changed. The original vehicle handbook states all appliances are 50 mbar. I think I need a new 50 mbar regulator.
My Hymer is fitted with a 50mbar regulator on a bulk tank but it has also run on a Spanish 28mbar one, fed through the barbeque point.
All of the appiances worked equaly well. Some are marked as 30mbar including the original fridge. It had a gas certification which is done bi-annually in Germany. when we bought it at 16 years old. Each appliance is marked as tested on this so if it passed their test with different presure markings I am satisfied that it is OK.
It is only relativly recently that the presures have been standardised at 30mbar from 28, 37 and 50mbar.
Effectively what johnthomson stated is correct, the appliances will "work" on a variety of pressures although they will only work correctly and efficiently on the pressure they were designed for, you will be best advised to ensure that the appliances are converted to work on the pressure your regulator supplies or ensure the regulator fitted complies with your equipment.

30 mbar reg fitted now. even though the above state it doesnt make any differance, the boiler does seem to be running better and a lot quiter on start up.
