I am fitting new carpets to my Swift Gazelle with an Alko chassis.

Where the cab joins the chassis is a board (12" wide) that has carpet fitted to it - it runs behind the seats and is approx 6ft long.

Does anyone know how to remove it so that I can fit the new carpet?

I've been underneath the vehicle but can't see any bolts or screws and I've tried levering it gently in the cab and it will not move!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Roy

Is found on many vans. dont try and remove, it is there for a reason. just try and get the carpet off the board.

Hello Roy

Put new carpets in our autotrail a few months ago. Had to remove side

panels from driver and passenger seats, the piece of board then levers

out from habitation side. No screws or anything just wedges in. Hope

this helps.

An update for removing the board between cab and chassis to fit a new carpet.

I took Ann's advice and levered the board from the habitation side but used more force this time.

It raised on the left-hand side and I looked underneath with a mirror and torch and noticed a screw holding the board!

I ripped off the carpet and discovered two more - I should have removed the carpet first!

After removing the screws the board levered out.

All is now okay.
