As I said in a previous thread, I'm in the process of changing my Toad from a Smart to an Abarth 500. Thanks to all who helped me with the A Frame selection and it is now booked into towbars 2 tow cars.

Anyway, I don't get the new car until the 1st March. So have been reading up the forums, as you do.

I could not believe my eyes when I read all the threads about reverse judder. So it seems Fiat are crap at getting the reverse issue not only in the Ducatos right but also on there production cars. If I had known I might not have ordered, then again it really is a nice car, especially with the red leather IMHO

I have a Fiat Qubo which probably has the same floorplan as yours, which I believe is based on the Punto. The Panda too is similar. I am sure that I have read that 80% of the 500's parts are the same as the Panda, and the Panda drives well, but is not pretty!

My Qubo reverses ok.

Yep!

My "Postman Pat" Citroen Berlingo judders worse than the motorhome.

I'm quite convinced it's because modern vehicles have a reverse gear that is far too high.

White Van Man might want to reverse at 40mph, and may (arguably Rolling Eyes ) be safe in doing so, but most average drivers would prefer a crawler reverse gear . . . especially on a damn great motorhome. Shocked

The fiat 500 chassis is used on the new Ford KA and there is no judder on mine with 6000miles on the clock
