I just thought I would let everyone know that Camper UK in Lincoln are holding an extra open weekend this year and the new event is to be held in the spring commencing: Friday March 30th 2012.
Camper UK's Open Weekends are always a really great event (ask anyone who has attended any of them) and everyone always has a really fabulous time.
The cost for the whole weekend (including camping) is only £25.00 per van based on 2 persons sharing and children under 14 are FREE!
Quite a few MHF members attended the Camper UK Bonfire weekend and it was really nice to turn it into a bit of a mini MHF meet, so I thought if I put it on here early, it would be nice to do the same again at this one too.
To book a pitch ring 01522 697070 because if you are really interested I suggest you book early as places normally go fast.

PS The bar is really cheap and at the prices they charge - very few people walk back to their vans at the end of the night in a straight line!
As Sue has said, it's a pleasant way to spend a weekend. It will fit in between the Spring Fair at Newark, which is the weekend before, and the Easter weekend, which is the weekend after. That makes for a very pleasant 3 weekends for us!!
Thanks Sue for drawing this to our attention. xx

You're welcome Norm and it would be nice to meet up with yourself, Sandra and Hezbez again.
We're hoping we can fit the weekend in, but we are not sure yet if we can but If not, we will definitely be at the next one.
Might be an idea for those attending Newark, who fancy then going on to Camper UK's open weekend, to arrange to go straight to Camper UK's campsite directly after leaving the Newark showground. I understand you can book extra nights on their rally field for a cost of only £5 per night, which I think you'll agree is an excellent offer. (Please note: there are no electric hook ups on their rally field.) There is a brand new shower & toilet block, which I presume will be open and of course the normal water and waste emptying facilities provided on all campsites.
By the way, there is electric hookups provided on all the hardstanding pitches of the actual campsite itself but usually during the days leading up to an open weekend, these are taken up by motorhomes brought up from their showroom forecourt in readiness for the weekends event.
If you need any more info re this weekend then just ring Camper UK and ask for Karen.
Morag, my dear, the distance between the dealership and the rally field is about 5 miles. If you're a mountain goat, then it's walkable!!
At CamperUK's last rally, on firework weekend, the firm moved all of their motorhome stock to the rally field area. I remember looking in one motorhome at 11.30 at night; they were still unlocked!
They also had some accessories available at the rally but not many. I'm sure the main site would have more.
Having bikes with you would overcome a couple of issues: travelling the 5 miles along quiet and level roads to the dealership; travelling the 0.8 miles to the pub in nearby Harby. The Bottle and Glass is an excellent establishment which does fine meals.
HTH xx
