Im given to understand that the Stikeback system has a bike alarm option built in, has anyone used this and does it do the job ?

Do any other systems have the same option?
Cheers

Yes - works fine. Very easy to use and just about foolproof.

Equally handy for protecting bikes on or off the rack, and anything else stored behind the van which can have the cable looped through it.

Don't know. I'm not aware of one.

I don't have a Strikeback...but I have a Toad system and I have had that option fitted on mine....works a treat....2x 6mm jack sockets at the side of the number plate and a curly guitar lead through the bikes.
Soon as you pull out/or cut a lead the alarm sounds. I have a switch in the cab that activates that loop. Expertly fitted by Phil at Rhino Installs.

The Strikeback one works well, uses a cable with a connector so you can part it to loop through bikes BBQ etc. Whole thing plugs into a trailer socket under the van which is part of the alarm system. A switch in the cab is used to arm and disarm. We use it wrapped around the bikes on the bike rack when on the move and around the bikes and other stuff when on site.

when we were at the shrewsbury show i bought 2 x padlock alarm's meant for garden shed's etc, good substantial padlocks that you can reverse the hasp on to use as a non alarm lock i think two for £15,
now i cant claim forward planning but the hasp fits perfectly through the pin holder on our ES electric bikes, allowing me to break them and alarm them when left unattended, the alarm is too sensitive to use on the back of the van so i use them as straight padlocks
