I've got one, anyone who wants it can have it!

Slightest breath of wind and its a waste of time taking it out of the bag Sad

Its in the shed until I throw it in the bin Surprised

I bought a Cadac barbecue at the NEC Motorhome Show in 2010.

Mine does not use a cartridge but attaches to the gas bottle. I changed the connection so that it connects to the gas barbecue tap on the side of my van.

I love it. It cooks really well and the foldaway design and carry case plus the various plates are super.

I've got one too and will pretty much use it it for 90% of the cooking when out and about between late March and late October, I've also got a gas barbecue tap on the side of my MH which connects to the CADAC.

I've got the larger one which is great for getting a full-English or an evening meal cooked in short order for the ravenous masses!

I've had it blow out a couple of times but I counter that by having a long gas hose which allows me to position it out of the wind - if that fails i use one of those new fangled things, what do you call 'em? Oh yeah, a windbreak - that does the trick Laughing

I also use the lid as a windbreak - there's a lug attached to the inside of the lid which allows you to hang the lid on the side of the grill, works for me!

I've got both sizes of Cadac. I find the small one too small and the big one too big to carry around in the MH, especially if you take the lid. Wish I'd bought the Beauclaire as it's much smaller to store.

I love my Cadac, but the one I have, and others may be refering to is the Safari Chef like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/CADAC-Safari-Chef-4-in-1-complete/dp/B000JUJMW8 (cheaper elsewhere)

It comes in both high and low pressure versions. Although many components are the same, it has more items with it than the one in the first post, eg a lid.

Thanks for posting Ktesis, but Just be aware of the differences before you purchase.

The model that I am referring to has the small screw on disposable gas cylinders. There is not enough pressure to make it a viable cooker.

I would think that the high pressure version would be fine.
