I think this link has been posted before but it's obviously not the definitive answer because it states in the opening paragraph that:
"Please note that the following information is provided as a guide only. Definitive information should be obtained from the Spanish authorities."

Lets be honest, we were all expecting it to happen sooner or later.what we need is an enterprising garage to start hiring trailers.

what is the ferry cost to the I.O.M then and the best time of year.

cabby

limited to 3500 so no towing these days. Laughing Laughing

Hi Cabby,
If you like motor cycle road racing then end of May to September

Wild/Free/almost free(£) camping is available all over the island

You need two permits - one from Ramsey Town Hall £12 last year allows you to stay on the front at Ramseys Mooragh Park - water and waste disposal on site public toilets in the park

The Claddagh recreation area permit is FOC and obtained fronm the DEpt of Env.Food and Ag this camping area has toilets, waste disposal and H&C water for washing - self and pots?

Ther are so many wild camping areas on the island also if stuck the locals will advise where the best areas are

Ferry is the bummer at £240 but for us so close to Liverpool the cost is about the same as travelling down to Dover plus ferry to get to Calais and a few miles into France

Best bit for me a host of road racing all free and IMO the best in the world - and get a permit if you like trout fishing lots of places to get your tea

Regards Ray

Well, although it may not be absolutely definitive it is clear enough that there is no point challenging it IMO.

The warning is clearly there and if we choose to ignore it and get nabbed the only person we can blame is ourself.

Yes, the Spanish authorities may give a definitive view, but it is NOT going to differ from what we have seen is it?

Thank you for that link, IMO the writing on the wall is VERY clear.......

Just met a couple in Santander who had been done fby police or the second time with a Smart car on an A frame. They had to drive both across Spain to the ferry! Knocks the mpg down a bit!

Its a real shame about the use of A frames, the idea is very good and usefull, ok now for the trayer fine now untill the local police want to see the test docs and paperwork for the trayler now how do we get round that when a spanish policeman starts with that and one cant speak a word of spanish.... no axe to grind just interesting to see what happens.... thanks for the link and is quite definate.....

This has been posted before and is not a DEFINITIVE answer as the quoted text says. ""as a guide only""
Quote
"Please note that the following information is provided as a guide only. Definitive information should be obtained from the Spanish authorities. For any of the following processes, you may find it helpful to employ a gestor (a representative who carries out administrative dealings on behalf of a private customer or company) to take care of the paperwork for you."

And to my knowledge there is no definitve boletins from the trafico on this subject unfortunetly it is left to individual interpritation, what I would say the Spanish are very adverse to towing another vehicle of anykind.

And so the discussion goes on and on and on.
