Just been over to the storage site to check on my van and dicovered that the lesuire battery is completely dead. I couldn't get the control panel to work to check anything.
Tha van is only 4 months old and I am annoyed to say the least.
Does this mean that my battery is done for or what??????
as you dont say how long it has stood for, we can only assume that you left something on without realising.Best you take it home and charge it and then get it tested, if faulty take it back to the dealer, all goods have a min of 12 months warranty and many batteries have up to 5 years.

Hi Cabby
It has been stood for 2 month (ish). We left the alarm on which we think is connected to the leisure battery and has drained it.
I am sure I read somewhere on here that if a battery goes completely dead it is damaged irreparably. If I only have to bring it home to charge that is fine. Any idea how long I would need to charge it for???
The alarm is quite a drain so you might like to think about the future and how you can solve that problem before it happens;
1) many people keep their MH connected to the EHU to solve that problem,
2) you might need to look at a solar panel to keep it topped up if EHU is not available,
3) otherwise you need to start and run your vehicle every week or so (being pessimistic), we found our battery went flat in about 3 weeks with the alarm on.......
You may find that the battery will take a charge but it's life may well have been damaged by going flat (I think the plates breakdown if flat) - there are MANY thread about batteries on here including this in the Motorhome Guides;
I hope that you will be OK, if the van is that new then if the battery has failed you can take it back and try - but they will probably say "you let it go flat"........
Many newer electric management systems shut down before the battery is completly dead to protect it (and its circuits).
So the battery may not have suffered a terminal (te he) fate!
Best of luck!
