We the Kindogs are planning our first trip through France. We would like to stay in and around the area of Clermont-Ferrand, for about 3 nights, en route to Spain. We will be taking two teenage pups with us. As our van only sleeps two, we have purchased a drive-away awning which will give all-round privacy for everyone. Being complete novices at motor homing we will gain experience of using and erecting the awning in the coming months.
Can anyone advise us as to a good campsite or sites with all the necessary amenities.

There are several campsites around that area, however, what are the necessary amenities??

Personally I like the Municipal campsite down that way

Municipal le Chanset*** - Ceyrat (01/01-31/12)"

Thank you for the info.
Shower & washing facilities, power, the ability to erect a drive away awning and to stock up with fresh water and food.

Any of the campsites will offer that.

Do you have access to either mapping software, or a sat nav, that accepts POI's.

I suggest you download Archies campsites, and either load them up to Google maps or on your mapping S/W.

You will have no problems getting an appropriate pitch !!

PS where you going in Spain ?

Yes I have a very good SatNav which takes POI. Javea and surrounding locations.
