Thanks every body for replying. My other half and i bought our motor home last july a swift escape 624. we have only done weekends so far but are planning a week away in june with our grandson and a fortnight in cornwall in july. my hubby is a bit of a fair weather camper and seems to like the technical side of things rather than going out in her i think you should get out as much as possible.he has a couple of issues relating to battery life (lotte is stored on a secure site)and solar panels relating to this he has been on a couple of forums with no success. i do have to subscrbe to use this facility then? thanks again for your help much appreciated.
welcome lotte11, no subs needed to read posts. Be careful about solar panels, some sellers are very over priced, a lot on here have fitted their own. you can of course buy your own and have it fitted locally.
There is a hell of a lot of info on here and you could well save yourself 10 years subs with the information and discounts.
Welcome from me too Lotte, although this site may be a bit daunting there is a VAST amount of goodwill and knowledge on here about MH and virtually any other subject too........
As was mentioned you only get 5 free posts before you have to subscribe (£12.50 a year and you and your other half can both have separate usernames for that).
As you said MH are complex and there are lots of things to do (and not to do) so picking people's brains makes good sense - when I joined as a non-subscriber I had a step that would not retract when the engine was switched on, this looked as if I was going to have to do a 150 mile journey back to the dealer........
I was given advice and the correct answer within 30 minutes - and joined within 24 hours as I recognised the value of such help.
This is not a "hard-sell" - as a non subscriber you can read virtually any posts that you want but cannot use things like the classifieds or the search (I think).
Remember the only "daft" question is the one that you did not ask - ask away about specific things for your vehicle or general MH topics like suitable sites in XYZ area or how to fit e.g. a solar panel correctly and not waste money........
As I said, you are very welcome on here and we hope to hear lots of things about how it's going......
