Have they got 80% cut-off and non-return valves on the filler connection? If so I would think they could be be adaptable to UK.
What are the test and working pressure figures?

Know they have an 80% cut off, sure theres non return on the obd valve.lots of airstream owners using them in the uk, so dont think fittings are a problem hopefully Rolling Eyes Wink

Hi

I looked at some in the US recently. I was told you can have ones that can be used while stored laying down, and ones that stand on end. The horizontal in use ones are twice the price, but have to be stood up to be filled? If thats any use!?

These are nice little bottles but you have the same problem as always with filling of a bottle. Some forecourts will fill them (as we do) but others will not so please consider this.

The bottle has an external thread for American BBQ and RV use but the internal thread of the valve is the normal LH Calor type connection that you will all find on a typical UK spec propane bottle.

There is an 80% fillstop fitted to some of these but we always fill to ullage level to make sure it is correct to 80% max fill using the small screw in the side of the off-take valve.
During the fill we slack this screw so that the bottle bleeds a small amount of vapour gas during the fill and then as the filling raises the liquid content inside the bottle it reaches the dip tube of the vent point at 80% where the vapour turns to liquid and you must stop filling.
This is the old fashioned way of filling, still used today on bulk tanks but the one way we know that the bottle content is correct but of course does carry risks associated with venting gas.
If the bottle is fitted with a fillstop protection then of course you can fill until this cuts in.

Hope this helps.
