It's that time of year and I am going through my MH insurance quotes and thought I would post them as everyone goes through the same process with probably different results.
For the past 2 years I have been with Caravan Guard. No claims or convictions. Last year paid £306.00, this year they asked for £392.50, an increase of 28%.
Motorhome Facts have quoted £277.54, Safeguard £440, Caravan Club £458, Comfort £305.
Looking at the above then it's probably going to be Motorhome Facts or Comfort. Both get a good write up on the forums. I can't understand why Caravan Guard want an extra 28%. Have there been a lot of whiplash claims from aged motorhhomers? I doubt it very much. I put it down to stinging people for loyalty. If they had asked me for a reasonable amount not too much from what I paid last year then they would have got my business. When people have needed to claim they seem to get a good press.
It always pays to shop around.

The client tries to be loyal and gets taken to the cleaners! Grr! The annoying thing is that the Caravan Club, Comfort and MHF all use AVIVA as their underwriter!
I had the same last year, with 3 AVIVA quotes, from Comfort at £240, Aviva at £591 and eventually MotorhomeFacts Insurance, also Aviva, at £212! Here's the link to the thread I started.
As you said, it always pays to shop around. I'll be doing that in a month's time.

Bang on the nail Uncle. They appear to have a deliberate and cynical policy of rewarding loyalty with ever increasing premiums!!
Saga got me good and proper with the home insurance over a number of years!!!
A combination of idleness and misplaced trust on my part, but they wanted something like £740 last year. I forget the precise figure, but it had been creeping up steadily over a number of years, and I hadn't shopped around. (Stupid boy!! )
Went to a local insurance broker who does our cars and they got us better cover with Axa for £305.

P.S. Saga just sent a letter asking if I want to insure the van with them . . . I shall phone them in a minute and explain why I don't.
Wish I could get past the innocent call-centre workers who are only doing their job. It's not fair to yell at them, but they will be told (politely) in no uncertain terms in the hope that the message will filter upwards!
