There's a speed camera on the M9 near Newbridge, Edinburgh, where there's a 50 limit. Every time we drive past it, even if we're doing around 40, it flashes us. Any ideas why, as every vehicle is entitled to drive at 50 irrespective of size?

I have never been flashed at in Edinburgh! Next time I pass the camera you are talking about I will see what it does.

Being boring I suspect that it has been set for the wrong speed........

they are set when they are installed - it only takes a few seconds to do, and probably the installer was in a hurry/cold/wet/hungry/bored/angry etc., and overlooked the setting.

It is worth ringing the local police force to tell them and they will notify the peple that install them.........

Unless the speed limit has changed and you are not aware of it? Crying or Very sad

That has happened before where the cameras were installed but the crew had not quite got round to installing the new signs..... Rolling Eyes

Worth a phone call to check IMO.... Very Happy

Some interesting ideas - esp the English - the wife is and she's always driving here!! It flashes from behind us as we pass - yes, it's in the dip - and this has happened for at least a year. I've never seen it flash any other vehicle of a similar size or larger. Yes, I've noticed the average speed cameras - they're the only ones which seem to make drivers slow down at roadworks.

If you mean the one on the dip below the A8 roundabout, I've just gone past it several times as fast as I can on Google streetview and it hasn't flashed once.

Mind, I do have an ECOSSE sticker on my laptop.

Sorry to follow up my own post, but I've just done the same on the southbound and there's actually a police car going past the speed camera in the outside lane!

I think it's time I went to bed . . .
