Apart from the 'aids to living' things to carry (torch, warning triangle, matches, those sort of things) I was also wondering what sort of toolkit folk have found useful. So far I have come up with:
Spanner for gas cylinder
Screwdriver to swap gas regulators
Jack
Wheel brace

All pretty obvious - but is there anything specific to MHs I should be carrying - as you may have guessed we are totally new to all this.

TIA

Mike

Laughing Hi mike_rolls37. I originally started off with a couple of screwdrivers a pair of pliers, some Silicone sealer and some string and Gaffa tape. Since then I have added several socket sets, Screwdriver sets, Electric drills & screwdrivers, an 8 Bar Air pump & Pressure tank, a 10 ton bottled jack (ex-Army), a variable ladder and some WD40. Laughing

we have some full timers as friends and they recommended to us to buy a headlamp torch(one that fits on your head) you may look a bit strange but at least when your gas runs out or you break down in the night etc you still have 2 hands to get the job sorted much easier.

As posted elsewhere previously - a cheap digital multimeter is invaluable. Just look at how many electrical problems are posted here.

I've tracked down and remedied numerous problems over the years (including for others on site) by use of a meter.

Interesting post as I have wondered the same and never remembered to ask. However, I am not allowed to have big tools as I do to much damage so I need just enough to do only the most simple tasks.

At present I carry Velco in case the roof comes off in the wind, an adjustable spanner only used for changing gas bottles, a 4 foot screw driver to kill intruders with and a can of WD 40 which I produce in front of other campers sometimes, but only to impress them.

I guess we have most of those items plus a large collection of other things that might be useful oneday:
various sizes of plastic cable ties and jubilee clips
nylon cord for washing line
glues and araldite epoxy quickset
odd lengths of water and waste hose and connectors
sticky velcro and more sticky velcro of various colours
webbing straps
self tap screws hooks etc
screw driver bit sets (not sure what a 4 foot screwdriver can be used for?)
jewellers screwdriver set and glasses repair kit (having spent a good while looking for a tiny screw in the grass many years ago Crying or Very sad )
various adjustable spanners (but still had to buy another one in Italy last year to tighten a gas fitting - needed two the same size to fit a nut inside a cupboard)
several torches
blocks of wood
etc etc

I reckon it took about an hour to clear out all the accumulated stuff when we changed motorhomes!

Steve
