I've just registered a new Kindle- my 4th. All has gone smoothly and all my books are now archived on it. However, when I connect it to the computer and look at the Kindle files, one of them is called:

DON'T-HALT-ON-REPAIR.

Under File Type it simply says "File", it is dated 22/09/2011 and it contains 0 KB of material. I can't open it.

Does anyone have any idea what it might mean ?

(It sounds a bit like the Do Not Resuscitate notices they put on the bed end of a seriously ill patient !)

Thanks Trev,

I wrote to Amazon in the end and, the gist of the reply seemed to be

Customers are not supposed to see that file
It's part of the operating system
Here is how to hide it if you wish
DO NOT DELETE IT

So, I'm leaving well alone !
