I have recently purchased a forward facing camera for the dash and am very pleased with the quality etc . I bought a 32gb sd card for it and formatted it and gave it a try.. You need to put into your PC, laptop or in my case I put it into my tablet running windows 7 t o view it, it runs in segments of 1,2 or 3 minutes or continuous ,I chose 3 minutes. When you put it into your pc it shows up as 3 minute parts as you would expect, now here is the problem, windows media player will play the first 8 segments with no problem but when you try all the other segments that have been recorded after that I get the following message "window media player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that used to compress the file."
I would be grateful if anyone of our experts could help me with this with giving me information on how the overcome this problem.
Many thanks. Brianfixit
It might also be worth down loading another free program

it's been around a long time and easy to use, usually just click on the files name to run almost anything you can create, there are also plug ins for more on the website, also if you're still having problems email the developer as he is most helpful.
The five minute segments of clips I recorded on my dash camera earlier this year were put first on to Windows Movie Maker 6.0 and joined up to the length I wanted.
Clips can be downloaded direct from the camera to WMM 6.0, joined together and published as a complete video.
The original clips were in AVI format but after joining together and publishing in WMM they are turned into WMV format - which is almost as good a quality as the original clips .
A couple of videos I've done are over 20 minutes long and the picture quality when played full screen on my PC is brilliant.
Unfortunately when uploaded to Youtube the quality diminishes due to Youtube reducing the HD videos at 1920 x 1080 down to 1280 x 720 – but that's another story!

Thank you all who replied to my problem .I downloaded VLC but it did not allow me to play it , appears that the sd card is at fault so it will be returned. Many thanks all brian
The cards need to be class 10, other classes are slower to absorb the camera info into the card so that might be one of the reasons why you can't replay the files FROM the SD card
