Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi to you all. The name is Chris, and being in the market to buy a newer Motorhome, I popped in here to read some of the forums, got so addicted, joined as a member, and the rest is history as they say..
So far I have been reading posts for 3 hours, and enjoyed each and everyone, they made me giggle, yet taught me some valuable Motorhome facts.
My hubby and I started with our first Motorhome only a few years ago, an ancient Bedford, that I travelled from the North East to Aldershot to pick up after buying it from ebay for a mere Ģ1,100, and that was it, I was hooked, the next was the Hobby 600 we have now, but again, that now has to go, as I now want to drive and as she doesn't have PAS, its hard work.
So now Im looking for the ideal MH, and have plans to fund it by renting it out via an agency as we really dont go away that often.
Mad you may think, to have a MH and not go anywhere, well its not, you see Im disabled and agoraphobic, so for the first time in 20 years I can now have breaks as I take my home with me...lol
I work voluntarily with Cats Protection, and naturally we have lots of animals, dogs, cats and 2 African Greys thrown in for good luck, so I dont think they have invented the MH that can cope with all that lot coming with us.
So thats all about me........oh, and yes, I have the same problem as another member, I find those thetford seats a bit restrictive too.......lol

Chris

Hi, Chris, and welcome to the site

Well done for subscribing before using your free posts. Too many people, it seems, think that paying any money to be a member of a forum is ridiculous. But I consider it the best Ģ10 I've spent in .. oo .. a long while Wink

In your case, we can all see how the unique properties of our hobby (no pun intended!) allows you increased freedom and enjoyment. It's fantastic.

Good luck on the renting out. I know someone asked about this a little while ago. I suppose it's the downside of the 'nice' vans being HUGE amounts of money to buy.

Great to see you here on MHF!

Gerald

Hi Christina,
Can I post a reply with a question? Well, I'll go ahead anyway.
I've just bought a Hobby 600 1987 which looks very like yours (only in gold!).
Like a fool I over tightened the shower tap and it sheared off. Do you know where I might be able to buy spares for Hobby's.
It's nice to make contact with another Hobby owner.
Thanks for your help
Laura
