Ok so as I said in a previous post...we bought the MH in Germany and drove back to Ireland with it. We spent a total of 3 nights in the huge overcab bed with room to spare but I must confess it was a bit on the hard side. Would anyone suggest replacing the matress and if so where might we get a replacement or is there an old pros trick to having a comfortable nights sleep? maybe some padding under the matress or something?

Thanks again

Hi Mary,

rather than replace the mattress theres been a lot of talk on here about mattress overlays from either raskelf or tempur (think i've spelt the names right?), if you do a search on these names or 'overlay' it should bring back a few possibilities.

pete.

Hi Mary,

we also bought a topper from Argos as Geoff mentioned, we use it at our static caravan, very good value and a lot more comfortable.

Hi

I have never bought a Raskelt topper, but I have slept on one and it was fabulous.

Even though I have a fixed bed, it is still a consideration

Raskelf is brilliant. Get the higher density one & 2 or 3 inch thick at least depenending on the available space. Put on top of your existing mattress.

Raskelf will make to fit if needed.

Tip

Air well before using.

The mattress in our caravan was too hard, we couldn't afford a raskelf topper so bought a sheet of 2 inch upholstery foam. Cost about £50 from Plastics by Post and did the trick.

Hi there,

in our old compass the rear lounge bed was too hard and lumpy for hubbys back and we brought a foam topper that had shapes a bit like an egg box on it, found it great as no where near as "sweaty" as some of the other foam types, although haven't tried the more expensive types. Ours was £25 from local market. Daughter has cut it in half for her bed at Uni since we got new van with fixed bed and wonderful mattress.

Tina
 Thanks
