You have got to set some guide lines/parameters that you need. for example when we started looking -

No more than 6 metres in length because we wanted to keep it home
A fixed bed - fed up with making beds in a caravan
this meant an overcab bed model to get the correct length
(we ended up with a king size permanent bed that is superb to sleep in)
forward facing seats with seat belts so we can can take the grandkids now and then
Ability to use all year - I think we have got this but will know in a few months
A settee for lounging about - a lot of m/homes only have dinette seating
We ended up having a 5 berth that is superb for 2 but we can take the grandkids - one at a time!

we have had to compromise, but not a lot.

we looked at second hand initially, but went for new (a treat for us) but we could have bought 5 to 7 years old for the same money and had better specs- this is a personal choice - as is everything about buying a motorhome or a caravan.

When you walk in you KNOW if it is the one for you

good luck in your search, but one thing I Know, Motorhomes are better than caravans (27 years a tugger, 6 months as a motorhomer!)

regards

Geoff

Eldiss and Compass differ only in their upholstery and badges as far as I know...
The two or three makes within the Swift range e.g. swift /bessacarr also have versions with the 'L' shaped lounge

Might be worthwhile getting a copy of Whichmotorcaravan... gives layout styles and lots of info ...but only current models. It will help to narrow the search... hopefully Wink
