Hi Folks! With it getting colder, I've read the bumff, been out with my little bucket, and turned on the sink taps/ undone the vent drain and got a full bucket. Its stopped draining and I've put the plug in a safe place. Shall I turn the taps off, and has it drained all the fresh water too?
Is there anything else I should do to the boiler etc.,
Also, the plan is to use plastic container to fill kettle and sink through winter - can I leave the waste water screw stopper out and just let it drain to bucket, to avoid frost in pipes. Have not been under to look for grey tank yet.
In addition, I want to use the propane to boil kettle/work blown air heating. There is a tap with a picture of a boiler in the propane locker, in horizontal position - does it turn all the supply off, or just boiler?
I am getting up hills a bit better now, and have found a good garage and bodyshop in Sheffy. Will need to put new Sparkrite on too - just got bracket where it used to be + fob! Still, will save a lot of messin' if new one fits it.
Look out for me soon, as it still drives like a tank, and the steering would not disgrace Brunel! Best wishes and thanks, - Helena
The only other thing we do on a drain down is remove the shower head (assuming you have one of course) then open all the taps and blow down the pipe, it's amazing how much water can come out.
Ohmigosh! - I've just stopped having hysterics - tears down face n' stuff! Got picture of 2000 ft disaster! Thankyou, I will not forget this....
I'm going to use the loo over the winter ( van is used as only vehicle - hence cups of tea via propane ) and have read that non-toxic antifreeze is needed. Glycol? Do you know a usual make, and how much to use, as the labels are confusing. Do I leave the flap open too, or can I close it as in use with antifreeze. Don't want to burn my bum with chemicals! H x
