you would have already noted that i am very close in purchasing a adria corol sport 660 dp. This MH is approximately 7.5 metres long would this cause me to pay increased ferry charges as i have noticed that a vast majority of MH are just under 6.5 metres. Also are you aware of any restrictions in vehicle recovery if i break down due to the size. For the first 12 months i have free AA recovery, but i have never noticed a large MH on the back of one of their break down trailers?
I bought a new Swift this year - 4000 kg and 7.50 metres give of take. It came with full AA membership.
Being dubious, I phoned the AA and asked for assistance, but they would not attend.
After a long battle between me, Swift, The AA, Fiat and Cleveland Motorhomes, I now have cover in place. The yellow AA booklet supplied with the van even stated "excluded over 3500 kg".
So check very carefully.
Also, my insurance is with Safeguard and they include full breakdown cover irrespective of size and weight.

Hi all, We've previously broken down twice, once small AA van = repaired side of road, once recovered to a repairer on a spectacle hoist.
All sorted by Safeguard, can't reccomend them highly enough!!
We were steered towards the RAC, special Arrival scheme, through the Caravan and Camping Club. You can contact the RAC directly and ask for the Arrival scheme and quote your CCC mem. no. If you don't have one it may be worth joining in addition to the Caravan Club.
The Arrival scheme eliminates all weight, height and length restrictions for motorhomes for European use.
C + CC/RAC arrival scheme, definitely! no age or dimensional restrictions, Europe wide. Not used it yet, but am confident that it is the best solution!

We couldn't agree more, and the follow up is fantastic, a call within a mminute of the anticipated arrival time and then continual calls to monitor and chase attendance over next 30 minutes.
I wasn't a member when I took out the policy but look forward to my 10% off when I renew next year.
