Did the person you got it from not give you a run-through?
You should contact a motorhome dealer in your area (check in the back of the monthly magazines), and phone them and ask. If you really have no clue, who knows if what you've got is safe, especially as it's 17 years old?
According to our memberlist, there are 7 Dinghy owners on here. Hopefully one of them will be able to provide a bit more specific information. But if I were you, I'd get it to the dealers ASAP before you try to turn anything on
I have to agree with Gerald. Get the thing checked over first, make sure it is all OK and safe, and then when you have the peace of mind of that, you can start safely learning how to use it.
If you can think of particular queries, we will all help as best we can.

In total agreement with the 'knowledgeable ones' on this one. Motorhome facts can indeed save you a fortune over the years with help, assistance and the ever growing subscriber discount base. However, when it comes to safety of a van that is not an area to save the pennies.
Our van is only 6 months old and in another 6 months we will have a full safety and habitation check, many might say why waste money on a new van, but at what cost is a human life. (Although my doctor did suggest that in my case £3.75 would be about right!)
Once you know its all safe and sound, then not only can you learn the whys, hows, and whens, you can at least be comforted by the fact that you'll all sleep a little more soundly in your mobile beds.
