G'day Folks,
Has any one seen the 'fill in' kit and 2 cushions needed to make up the largest size bed on the Harmony? It was an optional extra from new, and I'm sure I don't have it on this '95 van. I am a bit handy, so a pic of what it looks like and an idea Idea of what it fixes to would be much appreciated. Or if it's cheap somewhere, I'll buy it. Also. There's a metal cap (round) with a screw in the middle 2 1/2 ins across next to the exhaust. Is this a leisure water drain - or something else. If so, I want to drain all water out for winter. What happens if I take the screw out ( no laughing - sounds like that old joke about the pixie with the little golden screwdriver..... ) Lots of kind wishes, Helena x

Hi,

If your Harmony is on a older Talbot, not Peugeot Boxer then the double bed kit is more than likely the same/similar to mine , If I can get my camera back from my sister.... I'll take some pictures for you... If not sorry can't help, someone will know..... Autosleepers are pretty helpfull in suppling bits and pieces, maybe a phone call to them?

The Silver Cap is most likely the flue for your Propex gas heater(If you have one), around 5cm diameter with bendy stainless steel pipe coming from it, up into the floor.

Hope that helps,

Daniel.

Hi Daniel, Thankyouthankyou! - Yes, the van is a Talbot Express '95 1.9 I have e-mailed autosleepers, but no reply yet. I would love a picture, but don't go to too much trouble for me. A description of what it looks like would be appreciated i.e if wood, what measurements/ply etc., and what it sits on/ fixes to. I'm able to make stuff - cushions, so could have a go if simple. Yes, the round thing does look like your description- so I won't touch it. If it is to do with the heater, its out of my scope! As you have probably gathered, I am chasing my own tail a bit with the workings of this van! Nice to know folks are there, - Helena x P.S. Does yours go up hills at 15 mph too?

Hi Helena,

I will get some pictures for you this weekend, is it the whole double bed you want details of, the one that extends to the dashboard? Or is it the little one that is transverse?

The piece that goes between the cab seats to make the big double is just a matching piece of ply with two full width legs, and two small cushions that go on top.

The transverse double(small one) is made by putting the large table on the ledge between the rear (made as inward facing) benches. The two long backrests go in the middle, the other four cushions go around them, two on each side......

To make the big bed, same as above except slide the cab seats forward right up to the dashboard, and wind the backrests down to meet up with the bed base Put the infill board and cushions in....

I will take some photos in order of how to do if I get time and post them,
I also have a copy of owners manual which has instructions but no pictures.

Mine is a 2 litre petrol not to bad on hills, but not cheap to run...

Daniel

Thanks Daniel - Yes, it's the bit that fits in to make the very big bed that goes up to the dash. I have got autosleeper manual instructions, but have not tried out the layout yet. Pic of this fill in would be a bonus, but description is equally welcome! Mine is the deisel, bog basic. I could sure do with some pals! Anne and Tony have one too, and have helped answer some of my battier questions that I dare not put on here, in case everybody croaks with laughing. Embarassed Lots best wishes, -Helena x

Hi Helena, we havent used our fill in bed kit yet, we can manage on the smaller one sleeping sideways, but it depends on how tall you are, we made it up once when we got the van but thought it was too much trouble so didnt bother again, you could probably get someone to make you the wooden fill in bit it fits between the front seats and has folding legs then the fill in cushions on top, when you see the picture that Daniel is going to send you, you will see how bog standard the wooden fill in is, I would try the van out first (if you already havent done) maybe you dont need them. Anne

Thankyou Daniel for the clear, easy to see pics of the bed bits. From this, I can have a go at making something similar - but it's also showing it well enough to get someone to do it if I can't. I get a bit complicated when I do stuff, and will probably get wood that gives me payload of a tanker! Also thanks to Anne and Tony ( again ) I am going to get on the sideways bed as well, and have a squirm about to try it! Poor van is in the hospital (bodyshop) -No I haven't wrecked it so far, it's getting it's eyebrows plucked. Feels like leaving an orphan out in the cold. Once again, those pictures are better than the ones on the dealer sites Daniel. Best wishes, Helena x
