Hi all

ok so today I plugged my electric hook up to my Renault Rapport 91 model with a zig mc2000 unit and it has charged the leisure battery a bit I think but I need a new 1 for the new season.... I couldnt work out though how to make everything run off the electric hookup... No matter what I switched etc the lights just came on as they where just running from the deadish battery... How do I make it run off the electric hook up or do I need to check something that might have blown or something??? Any help is greatly appreciated.....

Also what tyre pressures should I be running with 185 14 tyres on my camper

Thanks
 tyre pressure

Hi

I could be wrong here...

If your lights are 12v system, they will work off the 12v supply even if you are on hook up. Effectively you are using 12v and the hook up is proving power to the leisure battery via the charger. Basically, as it is coming in, you are taking it out.

Leave the hook up connected for a while with all lights etc off.

Can someone else confirm my understanding is correct?

Russell

I am not sure about the system to which you refer regarding the Zig, otheres here I am sure will know.

There should be a charger on the system, so swithc on the external supply and switch on the charger, its most likly on a seperate switch. The battery voltage should increase as will the brightness of the lights. Check also any relevent fuses to the charger, there may be a charger 'output' fuse but this is unlikely.

Hopefully some one who knows the ZIG will be along soon.

If you know your axle weights - actual, not max permitted (which is a good idea!), email the tyre manufacturer, telling them your axle weight, total weight, and exact tyre details, and they will tell you the recommended pressure

hi spadey

im assuming you have a domestic type plug socket in the van somewhere, plug in the kettle and see if it works . if so then the 240 volts is working in the van and your problem lies with the zig or 240 feed to it .then it's a case of fuse/wiring checking and are all the swiches in the correct position for batt charging ?

good luck with it !
