First of all hello to everyone, we've browsed around MHF for a couple of evenings and it seems a really helpful and friendly place.

We're in the process of purchasing our first motorhome to tour Europe for a big chunk of the next two years, before our daughter starts school.

Paid deposit on a 2002 Ace Novella Roma, but before taking the final plunge with a considerable sum of money, we are wondering if we have forgotten to consider anything?

Any suggestions - the benefit of your experience would be much appreciated.

Greetings,

Welcome to the group lildavdon, you've made the first step right anyway, the Ace Roma is a good choice but as you are aware it does not stop there, I spent a further £2000 on: TV, TV aerial, Satellite system, cables, lights, radios, inverter, extra 12 volt and mains sockets, books, Sat Nav, tables, chairs, mats, windbreak, water hose pipe, barbeque, flag pole and a cuddly toy!! Smile

We also joined the Caravan club to take advantage of the advice and discounts on things such as camp sites, ferry's and so forth.

Look around for the best insurance deal, my choice was Caravan Guard who came back with the best quote and it included breakdown cover.

Ther will be others along to advise you further............................

.......................best of luck with your quest!!

Hi lildavon
We have a handover checklist in our download section along with other usefull downloads. I think you have to be a member to access.
Why not join and then you can get all the help you need.
It may help if you look at our Specifications database

Good luck

Hello again,

Have just paid subs - handover checklist in downloads looks useful.

Selling off all our belongings to afford the extras - well some of them!

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi,
Welcome to the site as a subscriber.
May I suggest you add a name to end of posts so we know who you are
Also an Idea of your location helps
If you want to add an avatar and are not sure how to, then get back to me or send me a pm
Check all of the downloads section as you will find more usefull stuff.
Do not commit to a purchase untill you have done more research, many have made the mistake and then lost money as it was not what they wanted.

Regards

Steve

Tried very hard to get a bit more money off and finally managed to get another 25 pence off and suggested a Welcome Hamper would be nice

Greetings,

Well done on the purchase of your new motorhome Dave and Donna, pleased you were able to get some cash off (25p? Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation #Silly )

Do let us know what you have got and your plans for the coming year.

Check out the cost of insurance at diferent companies, I use Carvan guard, there price was comparable to others and included breakdown insurance.

Best of luck
