Hi We want to take our six kids (now adults) to London to see a show on Sat 26th May but it will cost a fortune on the train from Margate. I was thinking that a campsite/car park near to a train station close to London might be the answer - has anyone got a suggestion and approx price. Thanks Loobyloo Rolling Eyes

the site I am on is a short cab ride to a gorgeous station which is one hour from L bridge .. but 6 adult travelcards still going to be a lot.. not sure you will save unless you can get a fair way inside M25, which may not be the best camping areas ... Confused

I thought I had heard somewhere in the myriads of threads somewhere on the net that a good 'lorry park' existed just under and below the Tower bridge South Bank.

I thought it was secure and OK for overnighting, perhaps someone who knows more may be able to update us on this.

Travelcards are only single figures, and let you go where you want all day. For the sake of taking the hassle out of dragging your van into London, I'd write the relatively small cost off against the nice weekend (not forgetting the fuel savings). We stayed in Abbey Wood SE2 - great site - but will cost you about the same as your travelcards.

Dougie.

so back to square one>? Train from Margate, Travel card included, and no driving or overnight fees?

I think this is easiest really?
