I have not used my visa debit card for a long-time now, anyway the other day Lisa used my card to book tickets for a rally, concert/tickets, today we noticed 3 tesco mobile top up’s amounting to £80.00 from the 21/5/07 today one more for £500.00 Shocked Shocked
Called bank and stopped, they said I will get refunded within the week, not the point mind £580.00 out of our bank Twisted Evil
First and last time, also we still haven’t had our tickets!!! So be very very aware

Very interesting. In early January I booked my tickets for the NEC show by telephone, using a card.
Later that card was misused to the extent of about £1500. I had never used it other than online or that phone call, and I am afraid the ticket office was top of my suspicious list.
I will never use them again.
Luckily I got my money back, but it is not a nice feeling.

Hi

For those who use cards, I can only advise you sign up for on line banking etc and check your account daily.

Already do that.

Wasn't one of these ticket companies to balm for cloning not long ago?

Culprits are not given a hard enough sentence.

They should be hammered sentence wise and very publicly.

Something similar happened to us this week. We noticed a couple of mobile phone bills on one of the cards that we use fairly infrequently. Now this can't be us, simply because we must be the only two people in the Country that don't have mobile phones.

We went back on line and checked the account and the list of names that have authority on the card, and surprise, spurpise there is a D Rigby on the card, who we have never heard of.

After long conversations with the bank concerned, it also transpires that the bank think we have moved address, and it was shortly after they recieved notification of change of address and processed it, that they also recieved authority for the extra named person to be added to the account.

We are still waiting for an explanation from the bank as to how come they changed our address, without doing any sensible checks, and quite happily produced another card for this wholly fraudulant user.

Fortunately it's not cost us a penny, and l suppoose the fraudster must be rueing his luck to pick two people who don't have mobile phones. According to the bank this is one of the fraudsters favourite methods of validating access to the card. They go and put credit on a mobile phone for a fairly small amount, using the card, and if that goes through, then a week or so later they hit your card big time.

Hello
We have internet banking this is how Lisa found this out, they are also some pending, they inform me that they have to let them go through and then stop them, as for the card I don’t even know my own pin for it, apparently the last transaction was for a mail order item, the fraud centre assured me they will refund the cash, as the trader should have asked for more info due to the shipment not going to the card address, the trader will be at fault, I also advised them that the last site Lisa used my card on was not secure and they are looking in to that, the person that cloned the card has the card number also the expire date together with the last 3 digit security number so they informed me
If it wasn’t for internet banking they would still be at it

Hi Brian

We also use internet banking and in addition our bank sends me a text each day telling us what our balance is, a very good, free feature.

Sorry to hear you have gone through the hassle
