I had a leak from the sealant around the heater extract.(no serious damage done) Dose any one no how to remove the small dark shadow that it has left on the ceiling

It is most likely that the 'shadow' is due to the plywood ceiling board discolouring under the paper finish, having become saturated by the leak. In this case the only way of removing it is to renew the affected area of ceiling board.

If you have stopped the leak, the moisture will gradually dissipate from the ceiling board, but it depends on how much water has got in there as to whether the stain will stay the same or get worse.

Check the ceiling carefully for softness or a pimpling effect around the stained area.
