Hi, Our van is approaching 3 years old, except for the gas pressure test is there any point in having a habitat service this year, as far as I can see all they do is give it a visual check.

It should also include a damp test, which I think is pretty crucial. You can of course get a damp meter, and do it yourself

Or of course you can ask for just a damp test to be carried out. But then when or if you decide to sell, the buyers will be impressed to see a history of service which includes the damp test results, for each year.If you are keeping the van for more than 8 years then just have a damp test to satisfy yourself.

A dealer is always happier with a full service history, this applies to both chassis service and habitation service / smmt / hab check.

Also please check your habitation handbook / warranty book. Some makes require this to be done yearly to keep you warranty valid.
