Having never been to a campsite before,do they cater for recycling like we do at home..ie cans,glass paper ect or is it just put into one big bin and taken to the tip all mixed up? Just curious thats all.

Depends where you are. Some have no recycling at all - perhaps the majority in UK, some bottles only. The problem seems to be that local authorities charge the site for recycling because they are a business not a domestic user. Usually you are directed to the nearest recycling place.

Recycling on continental campsites is much more organised. In Germany you sort every last thing into separate containers -or else !

As Grizzly says it depends where you are. We've recently stayed at Oakdown just outside Sidmouth, and absolutely everything can be separated for recycling green, brown , clear glass etc. They even ask you to remove the tops from plastic bottles and place in a separate bin as they can recycle these for charity
