If your van has a roll out, Fiamma, Omnistor etc, then you can attach a freestanding awning to that. As an alternative, Khyam do a quick erect utility tent, which is useful for storage, cooking and showering etc. Its made of a woven pvc-type material and is virtually bombproof. Price was about £80-90 a couple of years ago.

Hi we have a Harrison hi top drive away awning and a fiamma zip, depending on our plans we swap between the two. i must admit the harrison is great Very Happy , easy to put up once you are familiar with it and it has one annex which is invaluable as extra sleeping/storage any thing realy. Wink
we wouldn't be without it, brought it second hand so real value for money. Laughing

We have a Sunnacamp Drive Away, like a small frame tent and find it most usefull.
We attach it to our Roll out but you can attach it to a 'C' rail.
Use our as a camp kitchen and dining room as I hate cooking smells and condensation in the van.
