I have the following page planned for this country and the Alpine Tunnels. I would appreciate suggestions for improvements, mistakes etc before I commit to print..
This will be in the upgraded version of my 'Dont Speak Just Point' useful phrases book soon available through Outdoor Bits

One observation on Austria. The vignette is for vehicles up to 3500kg not under 3500kg.

Hi,

the paragraph about the Austrian road tax system is not entirely correct. I suggest the following paragraph:

"Vehicles on motorways must have and display a vignette if their maximum allowed gross weight is up to 3500 kgs. Greater gross weight requires a ‘Go-Box’ -see below."

I have removed the sentence about trailers because it is not correct: In case of passenger cars and motorhomes trailers do not count for the determination of the tax. Only the maximum allowed mass - and if this is more than 3.5 tons also the number of axles - of the towing vehicle are considered.

In addition: Truck legislation in Austria is not valid for motorhomes, even if their MAM exceeds 3.5 tons.

Best Regards,
Gerhard
