We have a week off in January. So we will be the taking tunnel and meandering up the coast as far as Zeeland.

Advice would be appreciated from anyone who has been to this area (Zeeland) well off season, especially:

Are any sites open?
The possibillity of wild camping in the area.
Availability of aires.

My research so far has revealed a glut of Holiday parks and about one aire.

Also, how easy is it to get by with no dutch language ability?

Thanks

I would look at the ASCI site to see which sites are open and all the dutch that we have met speak better english than most english, except those born in Yorkshire.

Hi;

We're off through the Netherlands into Northern Germany mid November, we've usually only transited the Netherlands in the van before but there appears to be quite a few more 'aires' than you think. Hoping to use a few, we'll let you know how we get on.
In the mean time have a look at this >campervriendelijk.nl< link.

Pete

Hi the last time we went to Holland, we used the ACSI camping book. When we go next year we are going to try this:

http://www.natuurkampeerterreinen.nl/main.php?friendly_url=english

Its cheap enough to try, and you never know till you try it. Smile

And the Dutch speak more languages than anyone, they have to because no one speaks DUTCH. Laughing Bob.

We often stop in zeeland as that is the closest to get a nose full of Dutch air !! as us Dutch say Laughing
I have pasted the sites od www.rpholidays.nl for you and we either stay at Zeebad and my favorite is Hof Domburg. This will take you a little longer to get to as you have got to go through a 6 kilomteres tunnel to get to the next island but it is a great site. You have got all the facilities plus the local bus that stops in front of the site and you can take that to the town of Middelburg.
Or you can walk into the village.

Kind regards

I have been drinking and making gluhwhein a lot with indeed all the drinks that have been suggested but add a little orange juice too. This will taste lovely but can't drink it yet due to my operation. Makes me run to the toilet even more !! such a shame as I do so enjoy it.

You will find no language barrier when you moan "help I'm freezing my nuts off in this boring flat windswept land".
