Hi all,

We are in a camp site just outside Rome, great place. We have been able to get sat. TV every where across europe so far but at this site the dish goes up ok, says astra 2 found but we can't get anything other than no satelite reception words on a blue background on the screen. I've tried all the usual turning off and on stuff al cables seem connected. the dish has no problem locating astra 2.

any ideas anyone ?

many thanks

John

Had good reception from Astra 2 (southern beam) in Rome just 2 weeks ago using Maxview crank-up aerial.
Suggest you try Astra 1 at 19.2 degrees to test for problem specific to your system. (It also gives a strong signal in Rome)

Hi

Using your remote control, press 4 then 6. What signal strength and quality can you see on the screen?

Have a read of www.astra2d.com and also www.sateliiteforcaravans.co.uk

Thanks for the info, I give both a try. My sat. knowledge is on the minus side. the bit that puzzles me is that the dish finds astra 2 in seconds but no info on the TV.

thanks again.

Is it a sky box you have, Press services. press 4 then on next menu 6 then Press 0-1 and ok quickly which will give you the Installers menu, 2nd down in menu ses transponder, if it reads 11. 7 ? change to 12128 this is the south beam , which might pick it up better, but sounds like your dish is too small. but sould you be watching TV in Rome.!!!!!!

Thanks I'll try that, your're right there's no excuse for watching TV whilst in Rome but it's getting dark hear now about 4.30 . I heard Italian military police had beeen put on the streets in the Napoli area here we're heading for next so was going to check the news when I found we had no signal.

We couldn't get any signal in Rome on an 80cm dish.

Good luck in Naples. Lovely place ?
