Hi there

I have burnt short movies from my Casio camera onto DVD but I get no sound when I play them on my DVD player - anyone out there got any ideas what I am doing wrong.

An idiot's guide would be helpful. My movies are .mov and I have Nero and NTI Mediamaker 8 and Windows DVD maker.

Hi,

What type of DVD player is it? Make/model etc...

Did you simply burn those .mov files to the DVD or did your software convert them to files DVD players can understand?

We have this problem at work all the time!

Cheers.

Hi monkeyboypaul

It's a Sony DVD player\recorder. I simply burned to DVD (some months ago) but can't remember what programme I used - probably Nero.

I have just tried to burn using Window DVD Maker but when I go to browse to select my videos they are not there so I obviously need to change from .mov to suit the programme I am using to burn.

So frustrating - wish I was back at work where I had about 30 people that would have taken me through what is probably a really simple task! It's so difficult to write about problem as I don't fully understand the process.

Hi,

Try VLC media player, then choose the convert/save option after opening your MOV files.

VLC will play virtually anything and it's free - but I've not used the convert function myself.

Give it a try!
